I think, based on your name, it should be a pic of the chocolate bar.

You should be able to use MS paint to crop it. If you don't have a program that can crop, I can crop it for you and send it back to you.

I am never, ever going to look at an AERO wrapper the same way again. It's like it's subtly encouraging rape.

Most of us are pretty nice on OPPO, it's a very different place than Jalopnik. Sometimes I'll post after having some wine and it won't make sense, but other than that, generally helpful.

Much better, and a square crop too, that'll work well for an avatar. I've worked as a photographer so I try not to critique other people photos. I think that this one will work well as an avatar though.

I'm thinking of framing that one for my wall! I know, even though I cant drive I've ridden in everything from a dodge stealth R/T twin turbo, to a 1982 mustang, to a lotus elise, to a e30 m3!

Totally lol'ed at the end of the first paragraph. I stopped going on Jalopnik about a month ago. As I posted earlier, I just started taking pictures like crazy recently (all with my potato) and consider myself in training! Love the critiquing.

There is nothing wrong with potato cameras. In the right light, they work just fine.

As for critiquing, the biggest thing I noticed in all of the pictures is distracting elements in the background (like the blue can in number 5). When you are shooting still life (like cars) take your time. Look at the whole scene and be willing to wait for people to move. If you can, move the car to somewhere with an interesting background. Potato cameras usually don't have a large enough sensor or a fast enough lens to get that creamy bokeh look, so choosing a background that is interesting, but doesn't detract from the car is important.

Kinja'd!!!

Don't be afraid to break the rule either. In this shot I turned the wheels to show the tread, generally that is considered a no-no in car photography, but I liked it that way. It gives me the feeling that the car is about to come at me.

Really though, shoot a lot, and from a lot of different angles. You'll start to see what looks interesting and what angles flatter a car.

Oh, and some GT porn to finish the post off =D

Weddings and portrait work mostly. It started as a hobby and ballooned into a profession. I did it for a few years to pay for all the gear and to make money n the side. Now I mostly just do it for fun and for friends and family.

Thank you! There are lots of resources online, and many colleges offer a photography program through their fine arts department. If you have any photography related questions feel free to ask, I'm happy to help.

Your Pictures are really good though, I read your other reply first and thought you just googled that speed 3 shot it was so fantastic! You try to make a facebook page and do like a GF Williams kinda thing (or whatever that guys name was), its got potential!

#3 is the simplest, so go for it. Jalopnik avis are too small for complex images.

I had a chance to see your "Goodnight Oppo" photo. I really like that vette.

When I'm shooting in an area that I know is going to be crowded and that I probably won't have the best opportunity to have the car on it's own or set against an interesting background, I'll often try to get closer and focus on some of the smaller details. Badges, headlamps, interesting lines, things like that. Getting in close removes most of the background elements as the car is going to be taking up the whole frame. It's good practice too as it forces you to look at the car differently.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Done right you should still be able to know exactly what car it is. Just make sure you ask the owner to approach his car up close first. Most owners at C&C's and car meets are good about letting people get close to their cars, but you run into the overprotective owner from time to time.
